‘Mija, Yes you can’ is turning 1! Join us for our one year anniversary celebration

EL PASO, Texas– Support for the Mija, Yes You Can® organization has erupted since its March 2020 launch as its mission to empower communities of women and girls gains traction throughout the state.

After just one year of running the Mija Project during an unprecedented pandemic, founder Iris Lopez alongside her creation team Shelby Montgomery, Crystal Saavedra and Susie Zambrano have multiplied their force with a string of committees now help run the organization with celebrations taking place the weekend of March 6 in conjunction with International Women’s Day.

“We launched just before COVID-19 slammed our community, triggering childcare and work-from-home struggles,” Lopez said. “Thankfully, the Mija Project was meant to provide some motivation and support to all women during this challenging time. In just one year we have seen that this simple yet powerful phrase has gone beyond uplifting women and united a community in sending the message that anything is possible, despite the challenges.”

In partnership with Kendra Scott, the Mijas will be in the house with their pop-up shop on Saturday from 2pm – 5pm. Mija gear will be available on a first-come-first-serve basis. Shoppers can also enjoy 15% off any Kendra Scott merchandise and proceeds of all purchases over the entire weekend will benefit the Mija Project! The Kendra Scott store is located at 6801 N. Mesa, Space A7.

On the far west side of town, the semi-permanent Mija, Yes You Can® pop-up at the Outlet Shoppes of El Paso will also be hosting an anniversary party on Saturday, March 6 during retail center hours. Customers can enjoy snacks, giveaways, challenges, a Mija photobooth and much more while supporting women around the world!

The Mija shop is located at:
7051 S Desert Blvd. in suite D498.

Mija supporters will also have a chance at entering a giveaway with prizes totaling to $500. Supporters who attend any of the two celebration events can enter their name in a drawing for prizes from local small businesses.
